True Type Fonts - RAM Usage Question
There are 42 items in total, with the total memory usage again being approximately 900k; though I do try to keep unecessary background services etc to a minimum. How does this equate to actual ram use? Is there memory usage which is not in this list, say for basic system workings, or "reserved" somehow?

There are three things I can think of that steal RAM from Windows after POST; a ram drive, shared video RAM, and a setting in Windows to limit RAM usage (there will be a "MaxPhysPage" line in system.ini's [386Enh] section). If it's not one of these things, then Windows may have an issue with your hardware.

Shared RAM Usage question
I see the memory usage increasing from about 50Mb to 170Mb. After restart, the memory usage is again 50Mb. There 'should' be no persistent data in the console itself. My question is, are there any parameters that I can give to Java runtime that might keep the performance of this console somewhat constant?

Ram can be mismatched but some motherboards may not like it. When using 1 stick you do install it in slot "0" if you have that slot, if not slot "1"? Any commands regarding ram usage in your config.sys/autoexec.bat/win.ini/system.ini could affect bootup. I don't think it matters which stick goes in the first slot
